UNSUPERVISED - Kai Reisa - Hope is A Weapon linocut print framed

Hope is a Weapon, is pretty literal. I designed it to invoke Mariame Kaba’s “hope is a discipline” and to remind us of its power. Hope is so powerful because it can galvanize people and bring us all together to unite for a common cause — in my opinion, a big part of why the left has felt so disjointed nationally and within San Francisco is because the political situation has felt hopeless. In San Francisco, the tech overlords have systematically stripped services that bring hope, but if we can think of hope as both a discipline and an action we can come together once again. Hope is binding and galvanizing and we must remember and center it.
